My Background

The tools, suggestions and ideas on this site will help build your self esteem. This growth is a process and can be long journey. So you'll need to be patient with yourself.

I bring an extensive background in health care, education, personal life coaching and risk taking to the material on this site.

In my first career as a registered nurse, I helped heal people’s bodies and minds. Then, for twenty-five years as a high school journalism, English, French and research teacher and sports and leadership coach, I supported my students’ self-esteem building. As a personal coach for more than ten years, I have supported my clients through their self-esteem growth and career changes.

I have a bachelor's degree in education from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, an M.A. from the University of Toronto, and a Diplome d'Etude from the University of Strasbourg, France. I am a qualified coach with the Coaches Training Institute of California and graduate of the Humber School of Writers. After a number years studying, I am almost fluent in Spanish.

My educational background along with decades of experience give me the grounding and integrity with which to support you in your self esteem building. This site’s material is for you. All the guides, quotations, self-esteem activities and worksheets come from extensive research and from my experiences in nursing, teaching and coaching.

My Experience

What has fueled my passion for self esteem development are the personal battles I've waged and won over the years. I feared heights and flying, but earned my pilot's license and trekked to Everest Base Camp. I feared public speaking and became a motivational speaker. I feared the blank white canvas and am finally painting. You can check out my latest paintings at Art Work.

I know from life experience that grit and determination get us through the hard patches in life. Also that when we develop a habit of personal growth and skill renewal, we open the door for opportunities. As we accomplish more and more, we become stronger and with each step we build higher self esteem.

My Life

I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband, Bob, in a house we designed and built. We have three children and six grandchildren. They have all taught me how rich life can be. Now I am honored to share this important journey with you.

My Belief

The opinion we have of ourselves comes from deep within. Inside our heads, we have a voice that tells us our “story.” Through this story, we imagine who we are.

I always say to my clients, “We are directors in our life drama and as directors we assign our own roles and write the script." That script, that story is the opinion we have of ourselves. This is where our journey towards self-esteem begins – with that story.

It is my firm belief that on its own, accomplishing things in life does not guarantee self-esteem. Pieces of paper listing our degrees and work experience doesn't determine self-esteem.

There are a gazillion people walking around with tons of talent and yet they don't have self-esteem. You need to believe that motivation and the risk to dream along with action will get you to your best place.

The tools on this site are yours for the taking. Enjoy the journey to self knowledge, self acceptance and self esteem. It's a sacred one.
